Fort&Manle Bojnokopff Edp 50 ml
Smokey rooms tucked away behind posh clubs in 1897 St Petersburg conjure images of dedicated followers of magic. Kerosene lamp light in the haze of tobacco and ornate mirrors creates the scene for the perfect illusion. Dark and hypnotic, his voice is calm and deep. “Tsilindr.” A single word, as he removes his famous purple top hat and lowers it down again, gently atop his head. Mysterious, yet delicate. This inspired blend conjures a full and rich western sensibility with its masterful shades of French Lavender and Vanilla atop depths of rich chocolate and unctuous textures. The greatest finale happens when the man is gone and we still feel his presence, embodied forever in a singular object, the purple top hat that inspired this namesake fragrance.
LAVANDE ROMAINE EDP 50-100 ml
“Crossing Haute Provence is a mystical journey. Like crossing a rocky desert where trees are rare, if it weren’t for the lavender. The tall bushes are shaken by blasts of the mistral. While the evenings are no longer lit by fires beneath the alembics, as described by Jean Giono, the clean, pure scent is the soul of this land.” [travel notes]
MIMOSA TANNERON EDP 50-100 ml
“In Tanneron, where the harsh mistral blows, a sea of yellow fills the eyes. And, as Albert Camus wrote to Maria Casarès, ‘the slopes crumble beneath the mimosa trees’. So redolent of springtime rebirth, their perfume instils calm and a strange sense of omnipotence. All roads are open…” [travel notes]
JASMIN DE PAYS EDP 50-100 ml
“In Grasse, from dawn to nightfall, the scent of jasmine writes its own story: first tender and green, then warm like orange blossom, and, finally, deep, almost animal-like, as it wilts. Guided by Jean-Claude, we follow its tracks, walking narrow trails where the generous plants offer themselves up to summer. By the end of the day, only one idea remains. Jasmine is forever.” [travel notes]
ROSE DE MAI EDP 50 ml
“… Dawn in Provence, amid the Alps and sea. The cool night surrenders to day. A radiant morning awaits: thousands of centifolia roses drink it in and begin to release their perfume. It is time for the harvest …” [travel notes]
MANDARINO DI SICILIA EDP 50-100 ml
“Small mandarins shine amid dense green leaves. In the distance stands Etna, its cone white with snow. It is as if the landscape has never changed. But the history of the Mandarin is one of fortuitous migration. One which might have inspired Italian artist Franco Battiato to write a song set between East and West: a Chinese nobleman arrived in Sicily in the early 1800s, settling on the island…” [travel notes]
VETIVER JAVA EDP 50-100 ml
“Two things strike us as we walk through the green tea plantations of ancient Java: the cone of the Kawa Ijen volcano and the vetiver bushes. Their long roots reinforce the pathways: they are the reason we came here, for the earthy, almost ashy note that makes this vetiver a unique olfactory experience”. [travel notes]
VANILLE DE TAHITI EDP 50-100 ml
“When Paul Gauguin fled France in search of an earthly paradise in French Polynesia, alongside the dazzling local colours he must have come across this orchid-like plant and its long seed pods. Dark, sticky, delicately perfumed…” [travel notes]
CACAO AZTEQUE EDP 50-100 ml
“While at the Aztec pyramids of Teotihuacan, we had a dream. We dreamed of a perfume that never existed. Xocolatl. The drink of the gods. On our return we began to experiment. The finest cocoa beans, pepper, cardamom and tuberose … The colours of the earth and sky… A fragrance resurrected from the past…” [travel notes]
CACAOAZTEQUE EXTRAIT 50 ml
We shall never know the scent of Xocolatl, drink of the gods. But we began with the purest essential Cocoa bean oil, adding Pepper, Cardamom, Sandalwood, Tuberose and Orchid. Perfumes of the earth and desert. Dense, liqueur-like notes.
TUBEREUSEABSOLUE EDP 50 ml
“A strange journey. It begins with an image from a 16th-century Spanish herbarium: a slender plant with pale white flowers. Bone flowers. We found the same blooms in the chinampas, the Aztecs’ floating gardens. And also in India, Martinique, Morocco and the night gardens of the Victorian age. Tuberose, the forbidden perfume, has continued to bewitch our sense of smell ever since”. [travel notes]
SANTAL DU PACIFIOUE EDP 50-100 ml
“There are no specific place names to indicate its origins. Only coordinates for mariners, parallels and meridians that intersect in the blue Pacific where Asia meets Oceania. Here we found the tree we were looking for, the original. The wood of the Sandalwood tree has the power to reawaken the mind”. [travel notes]
